Accure is a unique laser that uses light energy to target the sebaceous glands. The sebaceous glands produce sebum, an oily substance that plays a key role in acne formation. Accure reduces the amount of sebum production by targeting and destroying the bacteria that accumulate in the gland. This helps to keep sebum levels balanced and can reduce the severity of breakouts. Additionally, this process can help to reduce inflammation, pain, and discomfort associated with acne.

HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Most patients will notice maximum acne clearance with 4-12 weeks of their final treatment, but results may be noticeable as early as 4 weeks after the first treatment. Results are not instant, as it takes time for the sebaceous glands to react to the treatment and decrease oil production. However, results are long-lasting as the targeted glands experience a long-term reduction in oil production in response to the treatment.
how is the treatment performed?
The treatment begins with the application of a topical numbing cream to the treatment area to minimize discomfort. After a period of time, the numbing cream will be removed from the treatment area. You’ll be made comfortable in the treatment room with a blanket and your ear buds. Your provider will prepare your skin and begin the treatment.
The laser energy is administered from a handheld applicator in short pulses. Patients may feel a small snapping sensation in the treatment area as the energy is delivered to the skin. The onboard infrared camera monitors the temperature of your skin to ensure the treatment is fully delivered and your skin is completely safe.
The treatment takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.
is the accure laser painful?
Most patients report being very comfortable during the treatment. A strong topical numbing cream is applied before each treatment to take away most of the sensations. If you are feeling uncomfortable, other options such as nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or numbing injections are available. Your provider will work with your to ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible.
IS THERE DOWNTIME WITH THE ACCURE TREATMENT?
Acccure requires little to no recovery time. Following treatment, patients may experience a mild redness, swelling, or tenderness along the treatment area that typically resolve on their own with 24-48 hours. Although the skin may be red, it’s not painful. Dryness, crusting, or scabbing are possible, but very rare. We always tell patients not to schedule any social events for a day or two after treatment, just to be safe and ensure the redness has enough time to dissipate.
